2022/10/06/a-song-of- christmas-we-wish-you-a-merry- christmas/
Let us start with the Figgy Pudding Box die. This is a set of dies that when diecut, creates this super cute box. To me it kind of looks like a bundt cake, so this can be used for more than just Christmas goodies. Because of the added bow topper die, this can be used for any occasion.
The figgy pudding boxes were diecut using patterned paper, glittered cardstcok and solid cardstock, to show that no matter the selection of paper, your boxes are going to look so pretty!
The color combination of red and pink, will always be a classic color combination, and one I will never tire of.
When diecutting the lids, you are going to notice a hole at the top. This is to add the holly berry handle or the bow topper. Both look equally cute, but there is something about a glittered bow that I cannot say no to. Also to note, the bottom die and the top, will need to be diecut twice then glued to create the boxes.
What would be a fun box without a card? Remember how I said these boxes would be great for any occasion? Well, I happen to have a December birthday, and think this box set along with the Christmas Pudding dies, are the perfect duo.
Before adding the diecut pieces to the card, using a scoring tool, lines were scored onto the cardbase for added interest, as well as white outlines using a white gel pen.
There is nothing easier or more satisfying than the stencilscapes, and this Winter stencilscape is so dreamy. If you have problems picking out coordinating colors, do not fret, Betsy our fearless leader has a guide to follow included in the packaging, to ensure a beautiful card. You do not have to use the colors in the guide, you can go all willy nilly like me, and let your imagination go wild. The wilder the better I say!
In this first card using the Winter stencilscape, I diecut coordinating cardstock using the Frosty Pines Die, they add just the right amount of depth. Since this is a Christmas card, glitter was added to the tips of the trees with glue. Glitter and Christmas cards just go together, I don’t make the rules.
I like to play around with different colors of ink, and honestly there isn’t a single color combination that I have not liked. I encourage you to play around with color, try different greens, maybe be bold and make purple bunnies like i did lol. All of these stencilcape cards were ink blended with dye inks and blender brushes.
Next up is Cooking Up Christmas. This is a stamp and stencil combination. There are three different stencils, then a full set of stamps to choose from. Again, there is a guide as well as all of The Greetery’s amazing designers to give the most incredible inspiration. I followed the the inspiration guide and stenciled onto pink cardstock using oxide inks. Dye inks look the best on white cardstock, and with oxide inks having more pigment and staying true to color no matter the color of cardstock is why I went with them for this project. To get a nice smooth blend, I used the finger sponge daubers and do a tapping motion instead of a back and forth movement.
I love creating with products and using them in a new and different way. The background and foreground were stamped using the Peaceful Olive Full Panel stamp. Then using the same red cardstock and a darker red ink, a stamp from the stamp set was stamped then diecut before being adhered to the top of the card. A Holy Topper embellishment was also adhered to the top of the card.
Again the full stamp from the Peaceful Olive Full Panel stamp was used with versamark ink for a tone on tone affect. Then using the clear stamps, they were heat embossed with gold embossing powder then diecut and adhered to the card. The hello was heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Thank you so much for joining me today! I hope I have inspired you just a little bit and get your creative brain ready for Christmas. A huge thank you to Betsy for graciously allowing me to join The Greetery team today. I have to say if I had to describe The Greetery team, it would be superstars who are beyond talented, the nicest women you will ever meet and they all love Jesus, and folks it really doesn’t get better than that!
